If you have a bump on your female rat, not fret. There is usually a benign tumor. You should, of course, still get it checked by the vet. Female rats are very vulnerable to knots and bumps, especially around the mammary gland. Rats have nipples in odd places. There are a couple directly behind their front legs, so this is a common place for a lump.
Benign tumors can grow very fast. They were aware that the size of the rat. It is possible to have the unique surgically removed. If you catch the unique early, this is probably a good idea, if it gets bigger it will make it difficult for your rat to groom themselves and move right.
My beautiful rat Ginger has a benign tumor. Unfortunately, the vet felt she was too old for the operation. There was too much risk. He also felt the unique would probably grow elsewhere. The lump has doubled in the last 4 months, but still Ginger seems to be happy. Sometimes it on a course of antibiotics, to help her feel better and is more tired these days, but she still loves her cuddles and her best friend, Mr. T.
I have with it the following mixture to help her body fight:
Mix together the following ingredients:
3 capsules of C L A (Tonalin) (1000mg)
1 capsule co-enzyme Q10 (10 mg)
10 of echinacea drops / Goldenseal liquid herbal extract
1ml of the sub-lingual liquid vitamin B complex
1 capsule Super Antioxidant formula (vit C, E, beta carotene and selenium - not, if this Enervite or other vitamin supplements are given)
3 capsule Pau d'Arco (500mg)
1 capsule linseed oil (1000mg)
1 "square of miso paste (purely organic, not related)
Divide into 14 parts and hold them in the refrigerator. If your ratty has a rapidly growing tumor, these twice a day, otherwise there once.
You can mix it with yogurt or something else yummy that your love rats, in order to disguise the taste.
If your male rats will receive a unique, it is more chance it could be cancer tissue. Either way, please take your rat on the veterinarians immediately and be prepared for some health care.
